What we Do
Learn what we do at Second Wave Foundation.
In furtherance of our mission to be the second wave of positive change for our coral reef ecosystems, we have four actions where we place our focus.
1. Conservation. Partnering with other environmental organizations to protect and create habitats that will ensure the survival of coral reefs for future generations. This includes coral reef restoration initiatives, such as transplanting coral fragments into both artificial and natural reefs.
2. Education. Raising awareness with the general public on coral reef ecosystems, effects of climate change and other human activities, and what can be done to help protect our coral reefs through the maintenance of our website and blog, as well as hosting events within our community.
3. Advocacy. Pushing for better laws and regulations both within the United States and worldwide to better protect the coral reefs and oceans we all share.
4. Research. Conducting coral reef focused research activities to better understand how we can help coral adapt to climate change and warmer ocean temperatures.
